Vertical Concert Grand

Introducing the Klavins M450i, where innovation meets artistry in the world of pianos. Imagine this: if traditional concert grand pianos are elegant limousines, then the M450i is the Formula One race car of the piano world. Crafted with precision and passion, it embodies the perfect fusion of form and function, just like its racing counterpart.

Master piano builder David Klavins, a pioneer in his field, conceived the visionary VCG piano concept in 1987 with the groundbreaking Klavins M370. Decades of expertise culminated in the M450i, standing tall at 4.5 meters and spanning 2.2 meters wide. This towering masterpiece boasts a soundboard three times larger than that of a traditional concert grand, promising unparalleled resonance and depth.

What sets the M450i apart is not just its imposing stature, but also its versatility. While its design is rooted in functionality, its aesthetic potential knows no bounds. Each M450i can be transformed into a unique work of art, thanks to the innovative use of steel construction that allows for the addition of customizable design elements.

But the true magic lies in its sound. Experience the symphony of power and warmth, as the M450i delivers a rich, mellow tone across all registers. The bass register, in particular, is a marvel to behold, with strings stretching up to 3.9 meters in length, allowing for the exquisite addition of double chords — a feature exclusive to the M450i.

In a world where innovation meets tradition, the Klavins M450i stands tall as a testament to the boundless possibilities of piano craftsmanship. Elevate your musical journey with the pinnacle of piano engineering — the Klavins M450i.

Main Points of unique difference vs. the traditional concert grand piano

Ideal for architectural integration—the solid steel outer frame can be built into a wall, attached to columns, affixed to any solid concrete wall, or hung from a ceiling or solid structure.

Entirely customized to your specifications—color; open, closed, or partially open body; exposed or covered steel structure; LED lighting; and more.

Height and width can be adjusted to fit your space. The M450i’s signature sound can be achieved between the heights of 250-450cm and widths of 200-250cm. Piano’s depth is always 29cm. More efficient footprint than the traditional grand piano.

Each piano is individually handcrafted by David Klavins & team in Latvia.

The vertical construction of the M450i enables it to be integrated directly into fixed structures, much like an organ is permanently installed into a concert hall in order to maximize the instrument’s sonic potential. The Klavins M450i is especially well suited for concert halls, larger private dwellings, art centers, churches, luxury cruise ships, and the like.
