Concerts and scientific studies of the specific characeristics of the Klavins piano-building principles are scheduled to take place, as well as concert events. Our new product, the

Klavins Una Corda Piano

It is a new type of piano that has only one string per note, 64 keys - from A1 to C4, a double layer, rib-less soundboard of solid spruce, and weighs only around 100 kg total. It is straight strung and and has a support frame made of stainless steel. The unique artist Nils Frahm commissioned this instrument, the prototype was finished on June 7, 2014. The Una Corda Piano is handcrafted on demand at our workshop in Balingen.

Project KLAVINS MODEL 450 - M450

On March 29, 2015 Nils Frahm  published his new album -solo-, recorded in January 2014 playing the Klavins Modell 370 at the Pfleghofsaal Tübingen.

As well, Nils announces our mutual endevour to build the Klavins Upright Concert Grand Model 450, to be finished by Piano Day 2017.  To that end, he calls for support of this project through purchasing his new album and donating towards the construction. We are happy to announce that there have been numerous donations already, since the very first hour, for which we are very grateful.
